Sharmeen works with adults throughout the life span, particularly South Asian and BIPOC women who are navigating work-life balance, exploring identity and self-worth, and managing impacts from migration.

Hear from Sharmeen: With six years of experience supporting people across India, the UK and Canada, I believe therapy is a shared and creative journey. I work with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, stress, burn-out, identity and belonging. You may also be facing relationship challenges, grief and loss, and the effects of difficult experiences and trauma. Creativity is a powerful way to reconnect with your own voice, meaning, and inner resources. You do not need to be artistic or have any art experience to benefit from a creative approach to therapy. Art-making can support in bringing change and a deepened self-awareness, especially when experiences feel difficult to express through words alone.

As a South Asian woman, I understand how culture, family, and belonging shape us. I know that identity, family expectations, migration, and the experience of belonging to more than one culture, can all influence how we move through the world. I know that a culturally caring space makes all the difference in our healing. If you are feeling unsure of yourself, struggling to find words for your experience, or feeling disconnected, I can compassionately walk with you as you explore your path of life.

You may be a good fit for working with me if:

– You are experiencing anxiety, stress or burnout
– You feel disconnected from yourself or unsure of who you are
– You are navigating questions around identity, culture or belonging
– You are struggling with self-esteem or confidence
– Relationships or interpersonal challenges are weighing on you
– You are experiencing grief, loss or a significant life change
– Difficult or traumatic experiences continue to affect how you feel today
– You sometimes struggle to find the words to describe what you are experiencing
– You are curious about exploring therapy through creativity, art-making or other forms of expression
– You would like a therapist who understands how culture, family and belonging can shape our experiences
– You are looking for a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to therapy

My work includes body-based, trauma-informed and expressive arts approaches, which are powerful particularly when difficult experiences feel hard to understand or express. Trained in the UK, I have additional training in Integral Somatic Practice, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. I love exploring different art mediums, and I am currently passionate about finding ways to bring women together through textile arts.

If talking alone hasn’t always felt like enough, I offer a space where you can explore your experiences in ways that feel natural to you — through conversation, creativity, or simply taking the time to reconnect with yourself. You do not need to be artistic or know exactly what you want to say before you begin. You’re welcome to book a free consultation and see if working with I feel like the right fit for you.
