Clinical Supervision

Supervision for the Supervisor

Are you a new clinical supervisor supporting students or other mental health professionals? Perhaps you’re a seasoned supervisor looking for greater connection, consultation, and community.

Providing supervision can be deeply rewarding—and it also carries significant clinical responsibility. This group offers a dedicated space to strengthen your supervisory skills, reflect on what’s emerging in your role, and connect with other supervisors who understand the work.

Join a small, closed group led by experienced supervisors from Redbird Therapy.

Carmina Sahota

RP, MEd, BA
Supervision Team

My supervision style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that therapists do their best work when they feel supported and able to be themselves. I see supervision as a relational space where we can be curious about the work, explore challenges without judgment, and think together about what may be happening for both the client and therapist. I bring a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens to supervision, with attention to how identity, family, culture, and our own experiences can shape the therapeutic relationship. My hope is to support therapists in developing greater confidence, self-awareness, and trust in their own clinical voice.

Liz Bostwick

RP, MEd, BA Honours
Supervision Team

With experience in both community mental health and private practice, I am passionate about supporting therapists navigating compassion fatigue and establishing sustainable boundaries to foster long-term professional growth and well-being. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-oppressive practice. I strive to create a collaborative space where you, as an RP (Qualifying) or Student therapist, can build confidence, strengthen your clinical skills, and develop your own authentic therapeutic style. My supervision is informed by training in CBT, DBT, EFT, IFS, and other trauma-informed approaches.

Lee Shields

RP, MA, TIRP Grad, BSW
Supervision Team

I work relationally, which means listening and empathy are forefront in my supervision style. Through respectful and thoughtful reflection, I’m interested in helping therapists develop greater self-awareness, strengthen their therapeutic presence, and better understand how relational patterns may influence their work with clients. With over 27 years of clinical practice and trauma training, I co-create a safe, supportive environment where psychotherapists and clinical supervisors can reflect on the impact of clients’ traumatic experiences. I have trained and continue to reflect within a frame of cultural humility, always thinking about intersectionality and oppressive systems. I am core faculty at The CREATE Institute, where I teach arts based psychotherapy, which uses creativity as a way to communicate, reflect, process feelings, and discover new perspectives.

Barbara Brown

RP, MTS, BSc Honours
Clinical Director

With over 35 years in MHA services and 20+ years providing supervision. As a supervisor, I am direct, kind, and focused on you becoming the therapist – or supervisor – you want to be. I am fiercely committed to AOP and relational frameworks. I am well-versed in the regulatory guidelines to keep us grounded in the ethical and legal considerations of this work. I am foundationally a trauma treatment therapist, integrating somatic and cognitive interventions. With couples, I primarily draw on RLT.
